My family and I recently sailed on the Norwegian Gem this past December. It was a great cruise so much to see and do. It was my first cruise and I had a wonderful time! The ship was rocky at first but, that didn't stop me or anyone else from having a great vacation. The crew was very nice and helpful. The food was great something for all ages! The hours were fabulous, no schedule. Whenever you were hungry there was always food. The only problems were that they didn't serve breakfast all day. One afternoon I was in the mood for breakfast foods and there was none. I was upset because it's suppose to be a freestyle ship so I was very surprised that they didn't have any. The first day we ate at the Grand Pacific main dining room. The choices were minimum. The wait for our meal was ridiculous. Our waitress was snobby. We didn't eat back there the rest of the trip besides we didn't have any time to. We ended up eating at the Garden Cafe it was a terrific buffet with so much variety. Something for everyone. We also enjoyed Blue Lagoon the food was great and the service was fast. Next, our stateroom we chose an inside cabin. It was clean and colorful. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was fine. It was just really small for four people it would have been better for two. The cabin was in a good location. We weren't in the cabin that long so, it didn't really matter. The ship quality was great it was a huge ship. Very colorful and bright. The pool area was so much fun. It was hard to find some places but, all in all it was basically easy to find most places. The ship staff was friendly and always willing to help you in anyway they could. The entertainment on the ship was excellent. During the day there were so many activities to do such as rock climbing, swimming, eating, dance classes, games and so much more. The shows at the Stardust Theater were good although some were better than others. The nightlife was the best part at the Spinnaker Lounge. Great music and dancing for all ages. The ports were fantastic, I got so many souvenirs. When we got off the ship to go home we couldn't get a porter for our luggage for over an hour it was terrible and I felt NCL is to blame because they should have told us on the ship you have to stand in line to get a porter but, they didn't so we had no idea. So make sure you get in line as soon as possible! I had any amazing time everything was almost perfect except for a few minor details. I can't wait to go on another cruise really soon!
