Have just returned from an Alaskan cruise from Vancouver as part of a Titan tour including a stay in the Rockies and a trip upon the Rocky Mountaineer train; the whole trip was well organised and I would recommend and use Titan again; this was our first cruise so we were very apprehensive and our apprehension was increased by the lengthy processes of
immigration, registering and boarding the ship but any apprehension was soon dispelled once aboard; our outside state-room was comfortable, well-equipped with a comfortable bed but having a window, with a double bed immediately in front of it, prevented us from sitting in the bedroom and watching the passing scenery, either an inside room or one with a balcony next time.
The food onboard was excellent, well presented and delicious, the Garden Restaurant hectic and very busy but a table was eventually found, the service in the other restaurants good with a slight problem dealing with an allergy problem, the staff were helpful, polite and good-natured.
The entertainment was first-class with lots of variety, loved 'Cats Pyjamas', loved all the shows in the Stardust Lounge, loved the music in the bars; the range of excursions extensive, opted for Totem Bight, Eagles and Lighthouses from Ketchikan, whale hunting from Junau, and saw hump-back whales within ten minutes of sailing from Juneau, and The Great Yukon and White Pass Railway tour from Skagway, all great excursions.
Two things marred an otherwise great trip; one being charged one hundred American Dollars for a 1MG SD Memory Card in the photographic shop on board, and the long unpleasant discussion to finally get a refund for something that cost less than fifteen dollars in Skagway, and two the cost of fifty dollars to play two games of Bingo.
We will certainly be going on another cruise, and would seriously consider NCL but hopefully be a little more 'street-wise' next time.
