A brief review.We sailed on the Norwegian Sun for the second time in February.On the previous cruise on the ship we were very impressed with the whole experience -to criticise would have been picky.This time around there was a general slipping of standards.Everything seemed a struggle for our cabin stewards.Dirty mattress and holed bed linen.We guessed the stewards were coming to the end of a long stint aboard.However the bed linen was clearly a mix of cost cutting and poor management.Restaurants were of a good standard, but good and not the excellent that was the case a few years earlier.Tendering was a disaster at each port with long long waits.In Cozumel we missed our pre arranged scuba diving because one and a half hours was not long enough to get ashore.Sadly we went with family who had believed our extolling the quality of NCL. A few months earlier some other friends on our recommendation had gone on an NCLcruise in Europe -they were not impressed and we assumed that it was due to them travelling on one of the older ships -we were wrong.Pricing is excellent but it would be better if they charged a little more and tried to hold their previous standards.
